The updated sequel, “Success is a Spectrum,” showcases the stories of adults and adolescents with FASD who have been adopted and their adoptive families. The new video features various members from the Whitecrow Village community and was released in the summer of 2008. Success is a Spectrum (DVD) is available for purchase in the Village Market.
In the works. . . FASD Educational Comic Book (& Animated Film Short) Whitecrow Village team leaders are currently collaborating with Sean Muir and Richard Van Camp of the Healthy Aboriginal Network to produce an animated short and comic on living with FASD. Part of a series of comics and animated shorts about health issues produced by the Healthy Aboriginal Network that were inspired by Sean’s findings that people learn more from comics than from academic writings, the project strives to use these media as a means of introducing youth and communities to a picture of the possibilities of living successfully with FASD, to communicate the type of support people living with FASD may need, and to share the amazing contributions that people with FASD make to society.
Curricula Peer to Peer Education Program (P-PEP) Curriculum The P-PEP curriculum presents a youth-friendly framework for teaching about FASD and a model to guide the facilitation of youth FASD discussion groups and training programs. Targeting youth with and without FASD, the multi-media training manual and educational materials have been developed by the Whitecrow Village team and youth in the Whitecrow community.
